The vision of Jazzmatazz Dance is to promote a love for social dancing, good music, and the joys that each brings to you and your partner. We are based in Prince George, British Columbia. On this site you will find information about our lessons and monthly social events, music lists for practice, dance-related links, and much more!
Who are we?
Alison and Yvon are professional educators and are passionate about movement, music, dancing, and teaching.
Alison McNeill-Allen has a Masters Degree in Fine Arts Education and teaches dance and languages at the high school level. Alison has been working with the YMCA since 2000, sharing her love of social dancing with adults from all walks of life.
Yvon Allen has a degree in Physical Education and is a retired French Immersion teacher. Over the years, Yvon has trained many adults in running and intramural sport technique. He has been teaching dance with Alison since 2014.
Together we are Jazzmatazz Dance. We love to dance... dancing together, dancing with friends & students, learning new skills, and sharing our skills with others. We approach each class with a learning goal, but also with fun and humour. We believe in proper lead and follow technique -- not just pattern memorization -- so you can dance with anyone and look and feel good doing it.

Monthly Socials
We have found a new venue for our monthly socials! Join us at Knox United Church (1448 Fifth Ave), the last Saturday of each month from 7-10pm. We offer a friendly environment for you to practice your dance skills with a wood floor and a DJ that knows good dance music. Our playlists are so good, other dance groups in town use them too! No matter if you are a beginner dancer or someone who has been at it for decades (or anywhere in between), our socials are the best place for you to be. Singles welcome!
Admission is $10/person at the door. Cash only please. As much as we would like to continue to offer this as a by-donation service to our students, we now have to pay for the facility. We thank you for your understanding. And please bring clean dance shoes!
