East Coast Swing

Swing, jitterbug, jive, rock 'n' roll... East Coast Swing has many names but most importantly, it is jump-jivin' fun! The Beginner class focusses on single-step swing, providing students with the basic steps and scores of nifty turns, dips, and fun positions to keep you and your partner happy on the dance floor. The Intermediate level introduces the triple-step rhythm and several new patterns. East Coast Swing is our most popular class and is the most useful dance for a beginning social dancer.

Beginner East Coast Swing:  Sundays 6-7pm, September 9-October 21 (six weeks, no class on October 7).

Intermediate East Coast Swing: check back later

West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing is flirty, funky, and oh-so much fun! WCS is a modern evolution of the original 1930's Swing with a bluesy feel and a modern R&B groove all its own. It is a slower, smoother form of swing with a bluesy feel and a modern R&B groove all its own.  This is not the 50's style jive... it's a new swing for a new generation!

Beginner West Coast Swing: Sundays 7:15-8:15pm, September 9-October 21 (six weeks, no class on October 7).

Intermediate West Coast Swing: Check back soon!

Two-Step

Country dancing is an indispensable skill in this community! In this class we teach the fundamentals of two-step, including timing, turns, combos, and several partner dance positions. Put on 'yer boots and come on down!

Beginner Two-Step: Sundays 7:15-8:15pm, October 28-December 9 (six weeks, no class on November 11).

Intermediate Two-Step: Check back soon!

Salsa

Salsa means "sauce" and in this class we seriously stir it up! The beginner level will introduce the four basic Salsa steps and social dance positions, as well as several turns, combos, and dips. Partner-style Salsa is emphasized here so bring a friend!

Social Ballroom: Waltz

Want to impress your friends and family with your style and smooth dance moves? The Waltz has been the ultimate slow dance for partners for centuries. We focus on social waltz, rather than the formal ballroom style. Look into your partner's eyes and gracefully sweep each other across the floor!

Beginner Waltz: Sundays 6:00-7:00pm, October 28-December 9 (six weeks, no class on November 11).

Social Ballroom: Latin

The Rumba and the Cha Cha are dance cousins with a similar rhythm and many interchangable patterns. Although they are both danced at the same speed, the Rumba feels slow and graceful, while the Cha Cha is cheeky and playful.
